GeoCue has launched the TrueView 550 at INTERGEO 2026, expanding its standard aerial LiDAR portfolio with a new survey-grade mapping system. The GeoCue TrueView 550 LiDAR combines next-generation scanning technology, dual 20 MP cameras and a choice of two GNSS-inertial navigation systems for professional aerial surveying and geospatial applications.
The new system builds on the TrueView 539 and TrueView 540 and becomes the highest-performing sensor in GeoCue’s Standard range.
GeoCue TrueView 550 LiDAR Expands Standard Mapping Portfolio
GeoCue developed the TrueView 550 to provide performance approaching higher-end aerial LiDAR systems at a more accessible price point.
The system combines:
- Advanced aerial LiDAR scanner
- Dual 20 MP global shutter mapping cameras
- Expanded imaging field of view
- GeoCue TrueNav GNSS-Inertial navigation option
- Applanix APX-20 GNSS-Inertial navigation option
- Integration with LP360 processing software
According to GeoCue, the combination produces accurately positioned and colorized point clouds for surveying, engineering and other geospatial applications.
“The TrueView 550 is a true GeoCue product made in USA,” said Frank Darmayan, CEO of GeoCue. “We are combining the latest advanced LiDAR technology, GNSS-INS, and dual mapping cameras for a wider Field of View.”
“The result is a completely unique TrueView sensor that gives customers the level of accuracy and performance they expect from an engineering-grade system, but at a much more accessible price point.”
LiDAR System Provides Up to 2,100-Meter Ranging
The TrueView 550 incorporates LiDAR technology developed for aerial surveying applications ranging from traditional topographic mapping to high-relief terrain.
The system supports ranging capabilities of up to 2,100 meters.
Typical operating altitudes range from 100 to 600 meters above ground level, providing flexibility for projects involving different terrain and larger survey areas.
According to GeoCue, advanced waveform processing is designed to improve point-cloud density and data completeness.
The scanner can collect up to one million points per second when operating at 120 meters AGL.
Dual 20 MP Cameras Expand Drone Mapping Capabilities
The GeoCue TrueView 550 LiDAR incorporates two 20 MP global shutter mapping cameras.
The dual-camera configuration provides an ultra-wide imaging field of view and increases the amount of visual information collected during each flight.
According to GeoCue, the cameras are intended to improve point-cloud colorization while providing high-resolution imagery for:
- Feature identification
- Inspection
- Mapping
- Deliverable creation
The system simultaneously captures LiDAR measurements and RGB imagery.
GeoCue identified potential applications including professional surveying, engineering, infrastructure mapping, corridor projects, topographic mapping, construction documentation and other high-accuracy reality-capture projects.
TrueNav and APX-20 Positioning Options Available
Customers can configure the TrueView 550 with either GeoCue’s TrueNav GNSS-Inertial navigation system or the Applanix APX-20.
The APX-20 option provides enhanced GNSS-inertial positioning performance and access to unlimited Trimble PP-RTX post-processing.
According to GeoCue, PP-RTX uses corrections from a global satellite and reference network to provide centimeter-level positioning without requiring a field base station.
“The LiDAR market continues to evolve, and our customers have different requirements depending on the projects they are taking on,” said Vivien Heriard-Dubreuil, CEO of mdGroup, GeoCue’s parent company.
“With the TrueView 550, we wanted to give customers more choice. They can select our TrueNav positioning system for a powerful, integrated GeoCue solution, or choose the Applanix APX-20 for enhanced GNSS-inertial performance and access to unlimited PP-RTX processing.”
LP360 Provides Integrated LiDAR Processing Workflow
Like other TrueView systems, the TrueView 550 is integrated with GeoCue’s workflow from field collection through processing and final deliverable creation in LP360.
The combination provides a workflow covering:
- Aerial data collection
- LiDAR processing
- Point-cloud colorization
- Quality control
- Geospatial deliverable creation
The system is designed to provide survey and geospatial professionals with an integrated hardware and software environment for high-accuracy mapping.
GeoCue Also Expands NDAA-Compliant LiDAR Portfolio
The TrueView 550 launch follows GeoCue’s introduction of the TV1 NDAA UL and TV1 NDAA systems at Commercial UAV Expo 2026 in Las Vegas.
Developed with Ouster, both systems incorporate the OS1 MAX REV8 LiDAR sensor with a 256-channel architecture capable of collecting up to 10.4 million points per second.
The sensor provides a practical detection range of up to 200 meters at 10% reflectivity.
The TV1 NDAA UL uses the sensor’s native direct colorization and does not require a separate external mapping camera for point-cloud colorization. Its smaller and lighter configuration is intended for compact multirotor and fixed-wing UAVs.
The TV1 NDAA adds a 26 MP global shutter mapping camera to provide high-density LiDAR point clouds and high-resolution imagery during the same flight.
TrueView Portfolio Targets Different Mapping Requirements
GeoCue said the TrueView 550 strengthens its Standard portfolio while the recently introduced TV1 systems expand its NDAA-compliant product range.
“We look for gaps and opportunities where we can better fulfill the needs of our customers and respond to what the market is asking for,” said Vincent Legrand, Vice President of Global Sales at GeoCue.
“The TrueView 550 fills an important position in our standard range, just as the new TV1 NDAA systems expanded our compliant range. Having strong options across both our Standard and NDAA-compliant portfolios gives GeoCue the ability to help customers select the right tool for the work they actually need to accomplish.”
The GeoCue TrueView 550 LiDAR expands the company’s survey-grade aerial mapping portfolio with up to 2,100-meter ranging, dual 20 MP cameras, two GNSS-inertial positioning options and integration with the LP360 point-cloud processing workflow.
