YARI V6X Launches Modular Flight Controller Platform for Small Drones and Unmanned Systems

YARI has introduced the YARI V6X flight controller, an enterprise-grade FMUv6X modular autopilot platform designed for small unmanned vehicles and robotics systems. Designed and built in India, the platform supports copters, fixed-wing aircraft, VTOLs, rovers, boats, underwater ROVs and other unmanned platforms.

The V6X is designed for developers, system integrators, manufacturers, research teams, defense organizations and commercial operators working within the ArduPilot and PX4 ecosystems.

YARI V6X Flight Controller Uses Open Autopilot Standards

The V6X is based on the FMUv6X and Pixhawk Autopilot Bus open standards.

The platform consists of the YARI V6X Flight Controller Module and YARI Pixhawk Autopilot Bus Carrier, providing a modular architecture compatible with Pixhawk-based workflows.

According to YARI, the flight controller ships with ArduPilot support and can also be flashed with PX4 firmware.

YARI V6X board support has been merged into ArduPilot master, while supported firmware downloads are available through the company’s documentation site.

The approach allows developers to use the V6X while continuing to work with existing autopilot software, tools and integration methods.

Hardware Designed for Demanding Unmanned Missions

The YARI V6X flight controller combines redundant sensing, thermal management, vibration isolation and flight computing within a compact autopilot platform.

Key hardware features include:

  • STM32H743 MCU operating at up to 480 MHz
  • Modular FMU, IMU and PAB carrier architecture
  • Three IIM-42653 SmartIndustrial IMUs with extended temperature support
  • Redundant isolated sensor domains
  • Dedicated communication buses
  • Independent sensor power control
  • Active IMU heating
  • Custom vibration-isolation material
  • CNC-machined aluminum flight-controller enclosure
  • Ethernet connectivity
  • Additional telemetry, debug and integration interfaces

According to YARI, active IMU thermal stabilization is designed to support consistent sensor performance as environmental conditions change.

Flight Controller Completes Field and Laboratory Testing

YARI said the V6X has undergone field flight testing as well as environmental and electromagnetic compatibility testing in NABL-accredited laboratories.

EMC testing included:

  • CISPR 32 conducted emissions
  • CISPR 32 radiated emissions
  • IEC 61000-4-2 ESD immunity
  • IEC 61000-4-3 radiated immunity

Environmental evaluations covered:

  • Low air pressure
  • Cold
  • Dry heat
  • Temperature changes
  • Random vibration
  • Shock
  • Damp heat cyclic testing

According to the company, testing was conducted in operational condition with continuous data logging where applicable.

YARI said complete test reports are available upon request for qualified customers, system integrators and enterprise evaluations.

Field Validation Focuses on Multicopter Operations

Before launch, the V6X underwent repeated flight testing, thermal evaluations, vibration testing, automated hardware validation and endurance testing.

The validation process included:

  • Stable hover flights
  • High-vibration stress testing
  • Mission-style flight evaluations
  • Onboard IMU heater testing
  • ArduPilot hardware report reviews
  • Full-system flight testing

Full-system evaluations incorporated the YARI V6X, YARI GNSS, YARI Power Module and AM32 ESC hardware.

YARI also developed internal hardware testing automation for the platform, including automated serial-port validation, custom test jigs, custom test firmware and close to 100% hardware test coverage.

The company said it also completed a week-long endurance run with continuous onboard SD-card logging.

Most flight validation to date has been conducted using multicopter platforms. YARI said it plans to expand testing across additional vehicle types.

Ethernet Supports UAS and Companion Computer Integration

The YARI V6X flight controller supports Ethernet-based MAVLink connectivity for direct integration with PCs, companion computers and ground stations.

The company said this provides another integration option for unmanned vehicles using companion computers or payloads with more demanding data requirements.

YARI’s documentation resources include:

  • Setup information
  • Firmware downloads
  • Pinout information
  • Troubleshooting guidance
  • Compliance and testing summaries
  • CAD files
  • Datasheets
  • Bootloaders

Firmware resources include ArduPilot versions for Copter, Plane, Rover and Sub, along with PX4 firmware variants.

YARI V6X Designed and Built in India

YARI said the V6X is designed and built in India, with manufacturing activities conducted through its India-based network.

Depending on production stage and component availability, these activities can include PCB fabrication, PCB assembly, final assembly, testing and packaging.

Electronic components including integrated circuits, semiconductors and passive components may be sourced internationally based on technical requirements and availability.

According to the company, product development, integration, validation and manufacturing value-add remain centered in India.

YARI V6X Pre-Orders Open August 15

Pre-orders for the YARI V6X flight controller are scheduled to open on August 15, 2026, with worldwide shipping available.

YARI expects initial pre-order units to ship in approximately two months.

Pre-order customers will receive a 10% launch discount. The company said direct ordering will be available for individual customers, with separate ordering available for businesses and bulk purchases.

YARI described the V6X as the first commercial product in a broader hardware portfolio planned around small unmanned vehicles, autonomous systems development and field operations.
