Airbus Expands Support for Silent Arrow® UAS in European Markets

Silent Arrow is delighted to announce a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving Airbus DS Airborne Solutions GmbH (Airbus), MEL Aviation Ltd, and Yates Electrospace Corporation (operating as Silent Arrow). This agreement solidifies their commitment to manufacture, distribute, and support the Silent Arrow GD-2000, a robust cargo delivery Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) designed for various European market segments, including:

  • Public Sector, encompassing humanitarian aid organizations
  • Institutional Sector
  • Military Sector, including collaboration with the European Defence Agency

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the field of autonomous cargo delivery, combining Silent Arrow’s airborne cargo delivery proficiency with MEL Aviation’s aerospace manufacturing prowess and Airbus’s extensive experience in unmanned aerial services. Together, they aim to fulfill the diverse requirements of European customers.

As part of this partnership, Silent Arrow has recently granted MEL Aviation an exclusive license to manufacture the Silent Arrow GD-2000 and its spare parts for both the UK and EU markets, adhering to ISO AS9100 quality standards.

Airbus will play a pivotal role by providing sales, marketing, and after-sales support, leading the operational service model for Silent Arrow. This includes:

  • Customizing the Silent Arrow GD-2000 to meet the specific needs of national customers
  • Integrated Logistics Support
  • Flight Mission Planning
  • Refurbishing Silent Arrows after deployment

The Silent Arrow GD-2000 stands as the world’s inaugural heavy payload, autonomous, and attritable cargo delivery aircraft. It is purpose-built to transport 1,500 lbs. of cargo over distances exceeding 40 miles when launched from cargo aircraft such as the Lockheed Martin C-130, Boeing C-17, and Airbus A400M.
