Collins and SRB Enter Joint Partnership to Develop UAS Solutions in Saudi Arabia

Collins Aerospace and SRB Aerial Systems Sign MOU for Joint Development of UAS and Robotics in Saudi Arabia

Collins Aerospace, a US-based firm, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SRB Aerial Systems, a Saudi Arabia-based company, to collaborate on the research, development, and implementation of uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and robotics in Saudi Arabia’s defense sector. The partnership will leverage Collins Aerospace’s experience in UAS manufacturing and integration, and SRB Aerial Systems’ expertise in mission systems hardware and software, radio communication, imaging, and sensor manufacturing to develop UAS sovereign capabilities in Saudi Arabia.

Under the MoU, the companies will work together to develop a UAS platform that will be ready for its maiden flight test by the second quarter of the current fiscal year. This includes associated engineering and product integration work. The partnership will help SRB Aerial Systems achieve its goal of providing 100% locally owned and developed UAS, including tactical UAS, loitering munitions, and other aerial solutions for industrial logistics and transportation.

SRB Aerial Systems CEO Major General (Retired) Ahmed Al-Jehani said that the partnership is a significant step towards supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative to bring locally owned and manufactured products to the country. Collins Aerospace’s products will be included in locally produced UAS, expanding their shared market and supporting current and future missions.
