ASSET LLC Joint Venture to Provide Weapons and Systems Integration Support Services to NAWCWD Under New $292M Contract

Advanced Systems and Software Engineering Technologies (ASSET) LLC, based in Ridgecrest, California, has been awarded a new contract valued at $292M for Weapon and Systems Integration Support Services V (WSISS V). This joint venture between New Directions Technologies, Inc. (NDTI) and DCS Corporation will provide support services in the development, integration, testing, evaluation and fielding of new capabilities for the Navy’s aircraft, including unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

The 5-year contract will cover systems engineering, analysis, research, development, logistics, configuration and data management services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD). The supported platforms include the F/A-18, EA-18G, F-35, AV-8B, AH-1/UH-1 aircraft, as well as unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The contract will be performed at various locations across the US, including China Lake, California; Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; and Point Mugu, California.

This contract award is a significant achievement for NDTI, the managing member of the ASSET JV, and the largest contract ever awarded to a company based in Ridgecrest.

“We are honored by the trust the Navy and NAWCWD have placed in us,” said Cedric Knight, Chairman of the ASSET LLC Board of Directors and President & CEO of NDTI. “Along with our mentor firm, DCS Corporation, we will continue our successful 15-year partnership to provide the exceptional support the Navy has come to expect of us. The NAWCWD’s mission and the warfighter are our focus and bringing our pilots back home safely after a successful mission is our top priority. We exist for this purpose.”

Jim Benbow, CEO of DCS Corporation, also expressed his pride in their partnership with NDTI and the award of the WSISS V contract. “We have every confidence that the ASSET JV will build upon our years of successful performance to deliver the highest level of support to naval aviation for years to come.”

NDTI and DCS have a well-established relationship with the Department of Defense (DoD) and NAWCWD, having supported them for over 15 years under the WSISS series of contracts. The ASSET JV Team for WSISS V also includes INQU LLC (California City, California) and NRC LLC (Ridgecrest, California).
