Silent Falcon UAS Technologies, a leading UAS service provider and manufacturer of the Silent FalconTM, a solar electric, fixed wing, long endurance, long range Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), was selected by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to assist with policing strategies in maintaining safety and security during the Port of Spain Carnival celebration, one of the largest Carnival celebrations in the world.
The Silent FalconTM UAS was used to assist the TTPS with security operations during the entire duration of the Carnival, providing continuous information and city-wide situational awareness to the TTPS operational command center, giving the TTPS more visibility and access to otherwise hard to capture situations.
This is an exceptional achievement for Silent FalconTM as it continues to extend its mission set, expand its capabilities and perform more challenging assignments. The Silent FalconTM platform has been successfully used in various Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance; Search and Rescue and long-range border patrol missions across the globe; and in extreme environmental conditions while assisting the US Department of Interior in wildfires fighting operations. Its long-
range, long-endurance attributes, as well as its portability and very small operational footprint proved to be key factors contributing to the success of these missions.
“All of us at Silent FalconTM are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Rectrix Drone Services while flying the Silent Falcon Unmanned Aircraft System, providing security and situational awareness to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Services (TTPS), during the recent Carnival celebration in Port of Spain, Trinidad’, said John W. Brown, Chairman and CEO of Silent Falcon UAS Technologies. “In performing this important mission, we were able to contribute to what has been described as one of safest Carnival celebrations in recent memory. In thirteen sorties over 4 days the Silent FalconTM UAS was able to provide near-continuous overwatch over a very large area of Port of Spain giving the TTPS very high-resolution day and night “eyes on the sky” for crowd and traffic management, identifying and pinpointing possible criminal activity and assisting in managing and directing police assets. We are grateful to the TTPS for giving us the opportunity to showcase Silent Falcon’s capabilities in such an important and successful mission.”
