DJI SDK Challenge Finals To Be Held In Rome, NY

Search And Rescue Competition With Ford And United Nations Development Programme Demonstrates Lifesaving Ideas From Around The World For $100,000 Grand Prize

August 24, 2016 – DJI, the world’s leading maker of unmanned aerial vehicles, joins Ford Motor Company and the United Nations Development Programme on Sunday to host the company’s annual SDK Challenge, in which 10 teams will compete for a $100,000 prize to see whose software can best launch drones from the bed of a moving vehicle, guide them through a simulated disaster site to identify victims and return to land back on the vehicle.The 10 finalists from universities and research groups around the world have built their solutions with DJI’s Software Development Kit (SDK). They will compete in a disaster scenario at the FAA-designated drone test site at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, N.Y.

Guests will have the opportunity to fly DJI drones as well as observe the competition in progress. Media will be able to interview contestants and officials from DJI, Ford and the United Nations Development Programme.
